Andrew Chen's lovely new CD, Violet, comes out at the end of May. I have been meaning to push Boy In Static on people, but sort of forgot about it. This song is a cross between Slowdive and Sigur Ros, although its a bit on the livelier side. The feeling and atmosphere created by the song is beautiful. The role of the viola really cements it for me. I like the lyrics, even if they are straightforward, I think they work. Enjoy.

The boys are back.
Supposedly the first track on their upcoming album, Interpol draw us back in with a dreamy and dark song. From the first few words of Banks' abstract lyrics, you can immediately pick up on the vibe of the track. In traditional Interpol fashion, the song seems to be about some kind of heartache. I have yet to spend more time reading through the lyrics. The keyboards are definitely more pronounced, and aid in creating the mood. This song has me excited about what's coming in July, I can't wait to hear a studio version.
